Silva convicted of drug related death of young woman
Brentwood - County Attorney Jim Reams announced today that a Rockingham County Jury found Dante C. Silva, (DOB 9/14/84) of 48 Highland Street, Newton, guilty of Dispensing a Controlled Drug with Death Resulting.
On March 15, 2006, Caitlin Brady of Kingston, NH, died from the toxic effects of Heroin. Dante Silva dispensed the Heroin to Brady. “I am pleased with the jury’s verdict. I hope this sends a message that even casual drug use can kill, and that those who provide dangerous drugs to others will be held accountable for the destruction that they cause to our society and this family.” Reams thanks Det. Joel Johnson of the Kingston PD and DEA Agent Mike Cashman for their relentless investigation of this case and the prosecution team, Deputy County Attorney Tom Reid, Assistant County Attorney Lisa Rick and Victim Witness Advocate Tara Longo for all of their hard work in this prosecution. “Finally, I hope that this will bring some comfort and closure to Caitlin’s family”, said Reams.
The Court ordered a Pre-Sentence Investigation. This case is scheduled for sentencing on July 11, 2007 at 1pm. This is a felony level offense that carries a penalty up to life in prison.
Silva is currently out on bail pending sentencing.
