STALKER SENTENCED TO 10 1/2 TO 21 YEARS

Brentwood -        County Attorney Jim Reams announced today that Rockingham County Judge Kenneth McHugh has sentenced Saad Moussa, (DOB 07/16/64) formerly of 8 Lawrence Drive, Salem, New Hampshire to 10 ˝ to 21 years in the NH State Prison.

Moussa was convicted in March 2009 of three counts of Stalking.  Moussa was given the maximum sentence of 3 ˝ to 7 years on each charge consecutive to each other and consecutive to the sentence currently being served.  These charges stem from incidents that occurred in Salem when Moussa was prohibited from having contact with the victim, his ex-wife, under a Domestic Violence Final Protective Order issued by the Salem District Court.

These convictions follow Moussa’s convictions in November of 2008 on one count of Witness Tampering and one count of Stalking for which he is currently serving a 3 to 6 years sentence at the New Hampshire State Prison.  Moussa was also convicted of one count of Stalking in December of 2005.

“The sentence handed down in this case sends a clear message that in Rockingham County this office will have zero tolerance for those who commit stalking crimes and crimes of domestic violence,” said Reams.

Reams added, “I am always inspired by the bravery of the victims that are willing to seek justice and see the process through.  It’s people like this victim that drive this office to work so hard for justice for survivors of domestic violence.”
