MONTOUR
SENTENCED TO 10 TO 30 YEARS ON NUMEROUS COUNTS OF SEX ASSAULT
Brentwood -
County Attorney Jim Reams announced today
that Rockingham County Judge Kenneth McHigh has
sentenced Leonard Montour, (DOB 01/26/73) of 696 Hevey
Street, Manchester, NH to 15 to 30 years in the NH State Prison. Montour
was convicted in November, 2998 on two counts of Aggravated Felonious Sexual
Assault, four counts of Felonious Sexual Assault and two counts of Sexual
Assault. The above charges stem from incidents that occurred in Auburn, Manchester,
Litchfield and Hooksett, NH. Rockingham
County, Merrimack
County, as well as the Hillsborough County
charges were all consolidated for trial in Rockingham County.
The victim in this case was 14 at the time the assaults started in the
summer of 2005 and continued through the holidays of 2006-2007.
“This case is a good demonstration of the
value of a Child Advocacy Center
because it was during the interview of the victim that the multi-county nature
of the assaults became apparent. The victim was spared multiple
interviews and Merrimack
and Hillsborough counties only had to do corroborate the interview facts on
their counties,” said Reams.
“I am always inspired by the bravery of the
young victims that are willing to confront their accusers and seek
justice. I am glad that this ordeal is over for her. This inspiration is
what drives this office to work so hard on these cases”, said Reams.
