JEFFREY
MARSHALL SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS TO LIFE AT THE NH STATE PRISON
Brentwood -
County
Attorney Jim Reams
announced today that the N.H. Superior Court has sentenced Jeffrey E. Marshall (DOB
5/28/64) formerly of Crossroads House in Portsmouth, NH to 10 years to life at
the NH State Prison. Additionally, he was
ordered to pay a $1000.00 fine as well as $4800.00 in restitution to cover funeral
expenses.
Marshall was convicted of
Dispensing Controlled Drugs-Death Resulting on March 10, 2009 for the October 2007 drug
overdose death of Anthony Fosher and the theft of
money from Anthony Fosher as he lay dying. He was sentenced to 3 ˝ to 7 years stand
committed on the theft charge, concurrent to the State Prison sentence.
“This is the 3rd overdose death
in Rockingham County that has resulted in convictions
of those responsible for dispensing the drugs that needlessly caused the
deaths. It is my sincere hope that drug dealers and their friends learn not to
peddle their drugs in this County.”, said Reams. “I want to congratulate the Portsmouth Police
Department and the Medical Examiners Office for their thorough investigations
that made this prosecution possible and Assistant County Attorney Scott Jordan
for successfully prosecuting the case” continued Reams.
