MARSHALL
CONVICTED for DISPENSING DRUGS, DEATH RESULTING
Brentwood - County Attorney
Jim Reams announced today that for the 3rd time a Rockingham County
jury has convicted a defendant for Dispensing Drugs, Death Resulting and
Receiving Stolen Property. After deliberating for 2 hours, the Jury
returned Guilty verdicts against JEFFERY E. MARSHALL, (DOB 5/28/64). Marshall was living at the Crossroads shelter in Portsmouth at the
time.
Judge Tina Nadeau revoked Marshall’s bail at the
State’s request in light of the convictions. Marshall
provided the drugs that killed Anthony Fosher on October 21, 2007
in Portsmouth, NH. Marshall is currently
being held at the Rockingham County Jail while awaiting sentencing. The
sentencing will be scheduled in approximately 60 days.
“This verdict again sends the
strong message that Rockingham
County juries and this
office will not tolerate the death and destruction that those that provide
drugs to individuals inflict upon our society. I have to thank, on behalf of my
office and the family of the victim, the Portsmouth Police Department and the
NH Medical Examiners Office for their detailed and thorough investigation of
this case. The professional investigation and excellent testimony of
Assistant Medial Examiner Jennie Duval was crucial to the case.” said Reams.
The Trial Team consisted of
Assistant County Attorney Scott Jordan, Assistant County Attorney Geoffrey Ward
and Victim Advocate Stephanie Callahan.
The penalty for the Dispensing
case is 10 years to life in prison.
