Joshua R. Fields convicted of Criminal Restraint and Assault

Brentwood -  County Attorney Jim Reams announced today that a Rockingham County Jury today convicted Joshua R. Fields of Criminal Restraint, and 2 counts of Assault against his ex-girlfriend.  The Jury was unable to reach a decision in another count of False Imprisonment and found the Defendant not guilty of another Kidnapping charge.  No decision has been made on whether or not to retry the False Imprisonment charge.  Assistant County Attorney Patricia Conway handled the trial for the State. 

The incidents began on March 11th and continued into March 12th, 2006 in an episode that began in Derry, NH and ended in Methuen, MA.  The defendant fled in Methuen and was arrested in Philadelphia with the victims car and subsequently returned to NH.

A sentencing date has not yet been set by the Superior Court.
