Verdicts Reached in Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault Trial

Brentwood -  A jury found Fredrick W. Davis, Sr. guilty of two counts of Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault and one count of Indecent Exposure.  The verdicts were announced on the morning of Friday, February 2, 2007.  Mr. Davis, of 35 Harriman Hill Road, Raymond, New Hampshire, was charged with engaging in three patterns of sexual abuse on a child under the age of thirteen.  The victim testified that when the abuse began, the defendant showed him a gun and said, “Wouldn’t this put a big hole in someone.”  The victim also stated that the defendant warned him not to tell anyone about the sexual assaults or the victim would get in “big trouble for a long time”.  The abuse was alleged to involve more than one act of sexual contact which occurred over a period of two months or more and within a period of five years.  The victim testified that he was abused over a two year period and the abuse occurred at the defendant’s residence.  The jury found the defendant guilty of having the victim touch him in a manner that constituted sexual contact and touching the victim in the same way.   "This was a difficult case for the victim because of the intimidation that occurred and we are glad that it is over for him", said County Attorney Jim Reams.

The jury acquitted the defendant of one count of Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault which alleged a pattern of abuse which involved more than one act of sexual penetration over a period of two months or more.  The victim was only able to recall the specific details of one assault.  Superior Court Justice Patricia Coffey ordered the defendant to be held without bail and instructed the clerk’s office to schedule a sentencing hearing in 45-60 days.  The defendant still has other charges pending that will be scheduled for trial.
