Sex Offender Sentenced to 40-80 Years

Brentwood - County Attorney Jim Reams announced that yesterday Judge Tina Nadeau/Patricia Coffey has sentenced Harold Baird, 279 Long Pond Road, Danville, (DOB 1/17/36) to a total of 40 to 80 years in the NH State Prison after a jury found him guilty of three counts of Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault (AFSA) against a 5 year old stepdaughter. The assaults all occurred in Danville at 279 Long Pond Road between March 24, 2004 and December 11, 2004. The Defendant met the mother of the victim on the Internet, visited her and the daughter in China and married the mother.

“This case is a demonstration of how the coordination among law enforcement can produce results in difficult cases”, said Reams. “The mother of the victim could not speak English well when she had to reach out for help to protect her daughter from this predator. The treatment that this case received from the Danville Police and Assistant County Attorney Jerome Blanchard is a credit to law enforcement.”, continued Reams.
